Every once in awhile you’ll read an article about someone who got killed over a Big Mac or a case of beer. Events such as these aren’t very common, but it does show that someone can put a value on your life. Some people want a $5 sandwich more than they want you to live. It’s unfortunate, but so is your face.
When did things change? I doubt you’d hear about someone getting killed for stepping on someone else’s shoes in 1950. I also doubt that road rage back then was even close to being the issue it is today. Nowadays, people don’t even value their own life as evident by so many suicides. By the way, people who commit suicide are selfish. They might as well go donate blood first since they won’t need it anymore.
So, how much is your life worth? Maybe you’ll think twice before you go walking down an alley with a bag of McDonald’s and a six pack of beer. If someone could kill you for that, just think about what they’d do if you actually had decent food and more beer.
