I always feel bad for the people who stay at their jobs forever. I saw a commercial today that had this one old guy saying, “I’ve been with this grocery store for 26 years. I’m your personal meat cutter.” Come on now, get a new job. No one should do the exact same thing for 26 years, especially cutting meat. I don’t even want a personal meat cutter so what’s the point?
I have a hard time understanding how someone can stay at the same job that long. It’s hard enough for me to stay the full day. Isn’t there a point after you’ve mastered handling meat where you think, “There’s got to be more out of life?” Maybe its these people who go “postal” after realizing they wasted half their life. Can you really be happy and satisfied doing the same job for 20 years without progressing? What happened to the mid-life crisis? Well, my dog just pooped on the floor so I need to go encourage him to eat it so I won’t have to clean it up. Have a bad weekend.
