Hair Loss Products – Consider Side Effects, Time, And Investment

Even Julius Caesar complained about going bald at a young age and even some historians say that the more hair he lost, the larger his laurel wreath became at state functions. And two millennia later on, science still doesn’t have very effective hair loss products.

Hair loss can be triggered by a number of factors including heredity and vitamin deficiency. Many people wait until it’s almost too late before deciding they need help, and by the time they get some medical advice their only options are expensive and painful surgical procedures, or pills and ointments that have little effect on late stage balding.

If you think your hair is falling out faster than it should be, you’re probably right. Some people deny the obvious thinking the problem will go away on its own. It won’t. The only thing going away is your hair.

First, make an appointment with your doctor. He will do a full evaluation and check your vitamin level and hormones as well. Frequently, it’s a problem with your testosterone level and equally as common, there may be an issue with how much, or how little, vitamin B you have in your diet. When testosterone is the problem, it turns into a substance called HDT that smothers hair follicles and then kills them. Too often, this level of long term damage is irreparable.

If vitamin B is your problem he can prescribe some heavy duty supplements and suggest a better diet that is rich in all the B vitamins. Improvement in your vitamin levels can be seen right away. The vitamin B family is necessary to feed the hair follicles; without enough, they will starve to death, literally. Mega doses, under a doctor’s care, can turn out to have almost a miraculous effect.

There are also plenty of ointments and pills on the market. Some people claim success, others complain about wasting their money. Still others say they had new hair growth, but not where they wanted it. Before taking any type of oral medication, make sure you understand the possible side effects.

These products can become very expensive especially when you need to replenish them on a regular basis. It could take 9 – 12 months to see any results, and when you do, you might find it wasn’t worth the money.
