One of the interesting parts of running a website is being able to see the traffic statistics. One statistic in particular that stood out to me is how unintentional wording brings about a totally different meaning in the search engine. I’ve concluded that it’s caused by one of two things. 1) There are a lot of people who search for things such as “gay porn” and “post-operative transsexual dating” for example or 2) This site attracts a lot of gay and transsexual google traffic. Either way, the people behind the searches have to be pretty disappointed when they come here. Sorry! Actually, I’m not sorry. That has to be the ultimate downer.
What I want to know is how come I can get google traffic for phrases like that but for the keywords I really want, I’m on the 8th page? I don’t discriminate on how people get here but come on. Google is not doing any favors to the people searching for those terms nor any for me. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve specifically mentioned some of the search strings which will cause even more traffic for those terms. For the record, this site contains no gay porn nor does it even remotely relate to post-operative transsexual dating. As long as you’re okay with it then welcome I guess.
